Utah Pride Parade 2022

The whole church is invited to march in the Pride Parade as you are able (map below). This year, we will be part of a large walking contingent of progressive churches and faith groups walking together so that our LGBTQ community can witness the many churches and faith groups that stand with them in defense of transgender youth and all LGBT human rights. This is the year that we need a large interfaith voice at the Pride Parade!
For those able to join, we will gather at 9 a.m. for an ecumenical communion service with Lutheran Bishop Jim Gonia at the corner of 200 West and Pierpont Avenue (just below 200 South; see map below). We will walk with our HUCC banners and help carry the giant rainbow flag at the end of the parade. Please note: Because the rainbow flag is the last entry, the interfaith group may not begin walking until noon. Communion is at 9 a.m. and entry line up for the parade occurs at 11 a.m.  This will give you time to buy food and drink from nearby businesses if you would like. Note on the map below that you will be able to purchase last-minute Utah Pride gear near the line up area. Pastor Chelsea will be there with some UCC hats if you need sun protection or UCC gear. The parade route is 13 blocks long (about two miles). We should finish the route around 1:15 p.m. just south of the Pride Festival at Washington Square.
Please join us for this united interfaith witness!
