Come sing with Maria, hiss at the baroness, boo the Nazis and belt out at the goats. Wear a creative costume for the costume contest to make it even more fun!
It’s our third annual Sound of Music sing-along — your chance to cheer up those winter doldrums, enjoy a tune-filled evening and do some GOOD! All proceeds benefit the Utah Food Bank.
Sing with your favorite songs in this special sing-along edition! Rodgers & Hammerstein’s cinematic treasure The Sound of Music is the winner of five Academy Awards, including best picture. In this enchanting tale based on real events, Julie Andrews lights up the screen as Maria, a spirited young Austrian woman who leaves the convent to become a governess for Captain von Trapp’s (Christopher Plummer) seven unruly children. Her charm and songs soon win the hearts of the children – and their father. But when Nazi Germany unites with Austria, Maria is forced to attempt a daring escape with her new family.
Tickets are $6 prepaid, available by clicking the link.
Seats are $8 day of show (but we recommend you not wait for this option. This event has sold out every year). There will be a variety of soups and snacks available for purchase, cash only. Many opportunities to donate! (This is a fundraiser, not a food drive.)
Don’t worry if you don’t think you know all the words. You do. And Besides, they will be onscreen, like karaoke . . .
You are not required to sing or dress up. Just come!
Bring a cushion for your sitting spot (after all, this isn’t a megaplex).
We will need a few volunteers to help this event happen. If you’re interested, or have other questions, please Jani Gamble.
