HUCC Council

Category : Transitions

The Church Council is the principal policy-making and governing body of HUCC. Council consists of twelve voting members which include the four officers of the Executive Committee (Moderator, Vice Moderator, Finance Officer and Communication Officer), four members who support areas of ministry (Faith Formation, Caring Ministry, Compassionate Action, and Worship), a preschool board representative, a youth representative, a clerk and an at-large member. The Pastors of the Church are ex-officio members without vote. Council members serve one or two years and with the exception of the moderator, can be re-elected for a second term. Council’s far-ranging responsibilities include preparing an annual operating budget, ensuring appropriate compensation for pastors and staff, safeguarding HUCC’s assets, identifying resources for our missions, and working collaboratively with the pastors and staff to support the congregation and advance the overall mission of HUCC. Inspired? Are you a church member and willing to serve in a leadership role? If so, contact the Spiritual Gifts Committee which annually nominates candidates for officer and council positions at HUCC’s Spring Congregational Meeting.
 Jim Bale, Moderator 2020-2022
